Top 10 Fall Fashion Trends for 2024

My Favorite Fashion Trends for the Upcoming Season!

In partnership with

Welcome back to The Latest!

Hi again friends! I can’t believe it’s almost September. This year is flying by - but Fall is my favorite season so I have to admit I am excited! Especially fashion wise - that’s why today’s newsletter will be dedicated to the hottest fashion trends of this Fall! If you’ve followed along for a while you know that I make a Youtube video for seasonal fashion trends each season every year. This years Fall edition will be going live next week but you’ll have an exclusive first look at the list of trends here in today’s newsletter!

For reference I love researching seasonal fashion trends - it’s very much so a passion of mine. It gets me excited for the upcoming season, helps me visualize my future outfits, and also helps me feel tapped into the fashion world! I collect information from publications, social media like Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube and instagram, online retailers, and in real life inspiration as well!

1. Suede

This is one that I have seen ALL OVER! It’s been largely talked about on social media and I’ve also spotted it on all of my favorite retailers websites in the past few weeks. This is going to come in every shape and form. Through clothing of course with jackets (studded and embellished ones especially), skirts (love a mini suede skirt!), accessories like bags and shoes and more!

2. Kitten Heels Boots

If you know me you know I love my boots. Now that Fall is here I’ll be wearing them even more and one of the hottest styles for the season (and my personal fav) is going to be the kitten heel boot. I personally love a kitten heel anything because it elevates the look but is still so wearable and comfortable. I love a wider looser fitting kitten heel boot - very chic and very cool girl. Will pair perfectly with mini skirts and dresses and would even be fun to wear tucked into a jean!

3. Bold Layering and Patterns

This one came directly from Pinterest’s Fall trend report - which is so helpful and fun to skim through by the way. Both leopard print and camo searches have increased on the platform so they are not going anywhere! And what’s even more fun is we’re going to be pairing them with other patterns, textures, and interesting things! For example - skirts and jerseys, printed sweaters and tights, and full volume skirts to add more flare!

4. Bootcut Jeans

I have seen a lot of bootcut jeans while browsing my favorite websites and I have to say I’m excited to style them. Although they haven’t been the go-to cut for the last few years they are a classic and timeless cut. I think they are very flattering and can be styled super chic! Think with a button up or an off the shoulder sweater and a pointed toe boot. Here are some great bootcut jean options!

5. Asymmetrical Hems

I read about this one in Refinery29 and I love this for a fun flare to make your look more interesting. I’ve also been seeing a lot of unusual hems and cuts while shopping - especially on dresses. This can be done in a more loose and chaotic way or more angular and clean. I think both versions are fun and I’m excited to experiment with this trend this Fall.

6. Capris

This one if slightly controversial just because a lot of people don’t like the look of capris. And I get it. They are not the most universally flattering style. Being on the shorter side myself I do find them a bit of a challenge to pull off but I also find them incredibly chic and stylish. Therefore I myself will be dabbling in the capri trend this Fall but I totally get it’s not for everyone! I think they are going to look so cute with an off the shoulder sweater or a cropped bomber and ballet flats.  This pair of capris are my go-tos from shopbop!

7. Curves

I’ve been seeing this trend a lot through retailers and I also read about it on Refinery29. Essentially there will be a lot of accentuating of curves. For example, cinched waists, rounded shoulders and sleeves, and more. I’ve seen this done mostly through blazers and sweaters and I absolutely love the look of it. It’s very chic and stylish while also giving a very progressive almost futuristic feel to the look. I can’t wait to style this trend!

8. Olive Green

Every season tends to have a prominent color trend (or two) - this year I am seeing a lot of Olive Green. This is a classic Fall hue that is super versatile and flattering. I love the way this color looks next to denim and brown - making it a perfect shade to rock all Fall. We’ll be seeing this in monochromatic looks, pops via accessories - think shoes, bag, hat, scarves, and through staple pieces like jackets and blazers.

9. All Things Denim

This is a classic that never really goes out of style and I’ve been seeing some really fun versions of denim recently. I snagged a Ralph Lauren denim trench coat a few weeks back that I know I’ll be grabbing all Fall and Winter. Retailers have been coming out with some really great denim sets for that classic denim on denim look. I have the viral denim meshki top and I LOVE it - a cute denim top is definitely a great Fall wardrobe staple.

10. Country Chic

There is a western-country feel theme happening with a lot of the trends this season. Vogue covered this style as ‘country house weekends’ which I find super charming for Fall. Patterns like plaid, argyle, herringbone are taking over this trend. And instead of the preppy buttoned up version it’s leaning more towards a down home country feel. Think longer flowy plaid skirts, paired with boots and studded belts, lots of layering. I love that this trend is both cozy and chic. Hill House has so many cute dresses that fit this trend!

And that’s it - these are my favorite 2024 Fall Fashion Trends! I can’t wait to start styling them this season! Don’t forget to follow along on socials to catch more updates on these trends and more!
