Lake House Remodel: Before and After + Furnture and Decor

Welcome back to The Latest!

Today we’re diving in to all things lake house! If you follow along on socials you know were spending the next few months at our home in Tahoe and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it. We are still very much so in the process of decorating but we have been making some serious progress. Our next big task is to tackle the primary bedroom (coming soon to the newsletter). We just scored some Bernhardt nightstands at the consignment store in last weeks vlog and we’re working off that momentum. Let’s get into the decor, details, and more below!

The Remodel: Before and After

If you missed our previous videos on this project you can watch them here! For those that don’t know we did a full remodel on this place - and although it was challenging it was so worth it! We love the way everything turned out - here are a few of our favorite before and after pictures of the project.

The Living Room

One of the focal pieces in our home is of course our sofa. This is the coziest part of the house that we spend the most time in so it was important to us to make it special. We have received a ton of questions on our sofa and although it was an investment piece it was absolutely worth it to us. It is so comfortable, aesthetically it’s a dream, and it is incredible quality. It’s a piece we know we will love forever. We’ve also had a lot of fun decorating around the sofa with a bunch of fun and funky accent pieces like our favorite vintage boucle stools, and our colorful “bar corner.”

The Dining Room

We had a few trial and errors with our dining room table but in the end it all worked out and we scored a piece we LOVE! The unique texture and look of our CB2 dining table is exactly what we wanted in this space. It has a little bit of a mid century feel that adds the perfect contrast to our even older vintage finds. I am also a huge fan of texture so our cane back boucle chairs are the perfect accent to this table.

The Kitchen

Another heart of the home is of course our kitchen. It may be small but it is still in fact mighty. I have always dreamed of having black and white checkered floors and now that I am living that dream realized I love it even more. We used Zia Tiles to achieve this look and we are so happy with the pop of fun it adds to the house.
