Our Honeymoon Itinerary: South Africa & Mozambique!

I hope you're doing wonderfully! I'm thrilled to reconnect with you and share the incredible journey I recently embarked on: our honeymoon in South Africa. It was truly a magical experience filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't wait to take you along as I recount the highlights.
In this newsletter, I'll be diving into the details of our itinerary, from the vineyards of Stellenbosch to the bustling streets of Cape Town, the wild wonders of the African safari, and the tranquil shores of Benguerra Island in Mozambique. Get ready for a virtual tour through some of the most stunning landscapes and luxurious accommodations South Africa has to offer!
Stellenbosch: A Wine Lover's Paradise
We began our journey in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, nestled in the heart of South Africa's wine country. Over three enchanting nights, we explored the historic vineyards and charming streets. A highlight was our visit to Babylonstoren, where we indulged in delicious farm-to-table dining and strolled through the beautifully curated gardens.

Our stay at Delaire Graff Estate was nothing short of luxurious. Settled among rolling vineyards, the estate offered unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains and impeccable service that made our time truly special. My amazing husband (I love saying this!) planned a recovery day at the hotel spa to recharge from the wedding and the 15-hour flight from New York City. We felt rejuvenated from the best massages we've ever had and were ready to continue on the rest of our magical honeymoon!

Cape Town: Where City Meets Natural Beauty
Next, we ventured to vibrant Cape Town for three thrilling nights. We soaked in the sun at Camps Bay, enjoyed the exhilarating hike up Lion's Head, drove on the opposite side of the road, met penguins at Boulders Beach, and dined at the renowned FYN Restaurant, where every dish was a culinary masterpiece. We were blown away by the creativity of the Japanese and African fusion 9-course meal at FYN. It was an insanely beautiful and artistic experience!

Our accommodation at Ellerman House was a sanctuary of elegance and comfort. We were in awe of the beauty! Perched on the slopes of Lion's Head, the views of the Atlantic Ocean were breathtaking, and the personalized service exceeded our expectations.

Safari Adventure at &Beyond Ngala
The highlight of our honeymoon was undoubtedly our four nights spent on safari at &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve. We witnessed the majesty of Africa's wildlife up close, from majestic lions to graceful elephants. We were lucky to check off seeing Africa's Big 5 animals on our safari because of our amazing guides, Harold and Sean! They were legends so we recommend you request them if you cross this safari off your bucket list! This safari was truly the best thing we've ever done! This exciting experience made our stay in Kruger unforgettable! Our luxurious lodge blended seamlessly with the wilderness, offering us an authentic safari experience paired with unparalleled comfort. They put so much attention and care into special details during our stay like surprising us with a candle-lit dinner on our last night. Our favorite part was watching and cooling off next to the elephants in the pool after a game drive. So cool!!

As you can see, we moved around a lot during this trip and had a wide variety of experiences. Packing was a challenge because of the different seasons in New York and South Africa and we were limited to bringing a soft duffle bag for the safari. We were impressed by the capacity and functionality of this bag! Highly recommend it for anyone taking a safari or traveling this summer!

Secluded Paradise in Mozambique: Benguerra Island
To cap off our journey, we escaped to the serene shores of Benguerra Island in Mozambique for five blissful nights. Our stay at &Beyond Benguerra Island was pure paradise, with powdery white beaches and crystal-clear waters at our doorstep. We indulged in snorkeling adventures, romantic beach picnics, and rejuvenating spa treatments, making it the perfect end to our unforgettable honeymoon.
